Preliminary magnitude 3.0 earthquake rattles Malibu coast

A preliminary magnitude 3.0 earthquake rattled the Southern California coastline on Saturday afternoon.
It happened about three miles northeast of Malibu at around 2:15 p.m., according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake occurred at a geographical depth of about 10 kilometers, or just over six miles.
This is one of several earthquakes to hit the area in recent weeks, the largest of which happened on Sept. 12 and occurred at a magnitude of 4.7. Just a few days later, a 3.6 magnitude quake shook the area
As of 3:30 p.m. there have been no reports of damage or injury as a result of the shake.
Some people as far as South Los Angeles reported feeling the earthquake, per the USGS’s “Did You Feel It?” report.
